A Lancashire van firm has appointed a new Business Development Manager for its Preston business.

Dave Young, who began working in the motor industry 43 years ago as a technician, joins Swansway Volkswagen Van Centre Lancashire with a wealth of experience and takes up his new role having moved from Nissan in Blackpool.

He said: “It’s great to be joining Swansway Volkswagen Van Centre Lancashire and I look forward to working with the talented team that is already in place here.

“I have been impressed by the family ethos that surrounds the business and I can’t praise the staff enough for their dedication to the customers already.

“I’m excited about what lies ahead for us and myself and the team are relishing the challenge.”

Dave says the motor industry is in his blood with his father running a motor repair business in Preston.  He says to this day he still has the  ¾” X ½ “ bent combi spanner that first given to him at nine years of age.

He added: “Ever since a young age I was obsessed with vehicle mechanics and I’ve kept this passion right through my career. I’ve worked in garages as an apprentice the worked my way through the profession to fleet management.

“I’m a Preston man through-and-through and my experience of the motor trade as well as my knowledge of what businesses in Preston want can only benefit the customer in addition to the business.”
