WINCKLEY SQUARE HANGOUT – BACK THIS SUMMER

The heart of Preston’s professional quarter will be transformed into a networking hub for businesses next month as companies from across Lancashire are invited to ‘Hangout’.

The Winckley Square Business Hangout, a networking event hosted by the NWL Chamber of Commerce and Preston Business Improvement District (BID), returns to Winckley Square on Wednesday 19th July, when it is expected to once again attract wide range of business owners and managers from across Lancashire. The event is being supported by solicitors, Slater and Gordon.

Catherine Stringer, events manager at the Chamber of Commerce said the event would once again showcase Winckley Square as the commercial hub of the city centre and a centrepiece for the professions.

She said: “We all know that Winckley Square is a gem in Preston’s crown and by hosting the Hangout event there we are working to promote its continuing potential.

“The Hangout is an incredibly popular event, even more so now with the huge investment in the Square.

“We try and break the norm of networking, so there’s no name badges, no delegate lists, just the movers and shakers in local business getting together and forging working relationships.”

The event will once again see the return of the ‘Hangout’ line where businesses can pin up information on what their business does and seek partners in other sectors.

The method has already connected numerous businesses seeking to buy and sell products and services and continues to be really popular.

Mark Alexander, principal lawyer from Slater and Gordon said: “We are delighted to

be sponsoring the Winckley Square Business Hangout in July, and to be supporting

the business community in what is an especially vibrant time. We are looking

forward to catching up with everyone, and will do our best to ensure the sun is out!”

Guests at the event will be treated to a refreshing Teetotal G ‘n’ T reception from the

Temperance Spirit Company. The drinks, made from natural ingredients and botanicals, offer the chance to enjoy the taste of summer without consuming any alcoholic content.

The BID, a project managed by the NWL Chamber of Commerce is a supporter of the Winckley Square Community Interest Company (WSCIC); a body set up by businesses on the Square to oversee its regeneration, and continues to financially support the development of the Square and surrounding areas.
