Introduction to Bids and Tenders

March 14 @ 9:30 am - 4:45 pm

March 14, 2017 from 9:30 am to 4:45 pm

Have you just attended our Meet the Buyer event? Now that you know who to submit your bid to, now learn how to submit it in a way that wins you the business! This One Day course may be vital to landing that new large public or third sector client.

Selling to the Public Sector or third sector can be daunting, appear impenetrable or simply a bit of a mystery . This one day workshop will demystify and simplify the entire process of submitting a successful bid. The North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce provides this course to improve your chances of increasing your sales in the Public and Third Sector.

Several key reforms have made it easier for small firms to bid for and win public sector contracts:

  • Lengthy and painstaking pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) are no longer required for low-value contracts;
  • Easy to Bid: Bidding processes have been simplified;
  • Contracts Finder: All public sector contracts are published in one place
  • Get Paid: Everyone in the supply chain has to comply with 30-day payment terms;
  • Simplified Bidding: Large contracts are increasingly being split into smaller jobs to allow SMEs to bid.

One caveat, the requirement for the public and third sectors to achieve the best value criteria puts the emphasis firmly on you, the potential supplier, to prove that your organisation is the best and most appropriate partner to supply those goods or services!

Delegates on this course will cover:

  • Identifying Public Sector opportunities
  • Online portals
  • Bid preparation
  • Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs)
  • Tender questions and answers
  • Added Value Criteria’s
  • Debriefs

The trainer, Geoff Yale, has 21 years experience as a qualified Public Sector Senior Buyer with Lancashire County Council and the National Health Service and 15 years as a Business Development and National Sales Manager developing business in the public sector for large international finance companies.

Geoff will work with you to identify  understand and highlight areas that will help increase a business understanding of the public sector which will in turn increase opportunities, potential  turnover and profit to your business.
