Business backing for Bubble Rush

The Fylde Coast’s first ever Bubble Rush attracted 2,300 participants and with money still coming in has raised well over £50,000 for Brian House Children’s Hospice in Blackpool.

A brand new event for the Brian House 21st birthday year, Bubble Rush really captured people’s imaginations. Participants from under five to over 80 enjoyed some seriously foamy fun, making it an undoubted highlight of the hospice calendar.

Corporate sponsorship helped cover the cost of staging the event, so that money raised on the day can go towards keeping the specialist unit open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Brian House must raise £1million each year to keep its services free to families who need them across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

The ‘bubble station’ sponsors were Ribby Hall Village, Sandcastle Water Park and Pink Link Ladies.

Janet Atkins, Brian House corporate fundraiser said: “We just couldn’t have done it without them. Big events like this are always a team effort, and our sponsors did us proud. Local businesses have a fantastic track record of helping the hospice, and in our 21st birthday year it’s so good to have them on board. The success of the Bubble Rush left most people with just one question: when will we do it again? Watch this space!’
