Grants available to help keep Pendle homes warm this winter

Grants are still available for some Pendle residents to help them keep their homes warm this winter.

Home Upgrade Grants are available for low-income households without gas central heating with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D to G.

The government-funded scheme – run by Cosy Homes in Lancashire – is to help residents make their homes more energy efficient.

The scheme runs until March 31, 2025, with funding allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Residents qualify if they:

  • Live in a property with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating D to G
  • Don’t have gas central heating installed
  • Live in a qualifying postcode area
  • Have a household income of less than £36,000 per year
  • Have someone in the household in receipt of a means tested benefit

Pendle Borough Council’s portfolio holder for Housing, Health & Wellbeing, councillor Mohammed Iqbal, said: “It’s important we look after our residents’ health and wellbeing during the cold, winter months and this scheme will help those in need.

“We are urging residents to check their eligibility and seek access to the grants as soon as possible, with the scheme only running until the end of March and funds being allocated on a first come, first served basis.”
