Chorley FC in talks with Boyzone over collaboration

National League North side Chorley are in “ongoing discussions” with Irish pop group Boyzone that “could potentially see them becoming the face of the football club”.

It has been reported that the group’s original members Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy will all be in attendance when Chorley host Solihull Moors in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

The trio, who enjoyed enormous success in the 1990s with six number one singles in the UK, are believed to be friends of the club’s owners which include Prince Yemoh of Reset Events Ltd.

A club statement read: “We have just confirmed that world renowned, Boyzone, will be joining us for our upcoming home game against Solihull Moors in the Isuzu FA Trophy this weekend!

“This collaboration with Boyzone is part of ongoing discussions that could potentially see them becoming the face of the football club.

“This is a game-changer that has the potential to bring our town into the limelight like never before, generating a buzz and publicity that will shine a bright light on Chorley and the local area.

“We are bursting with excitement and gratitude for this incredible opportunity. Boyzone’s presence at the game will undoubtedly create an electric atmosphere, filled with music, joy and a shared love for football and a close knit, family community.”

Chorley are sixth in National League North and enjoyed a 3-1 win over Gloucester City last night.
