Haydock Finance partners with The Wish Centre to deliver charity ball

Haydock Finance – specialist in supportive business finance – is proud to announce its partnership with The Wish Centre as a headline sponsor for an important fundraising event in the charity’s diary.

The Hollywood-themed ‘Wish Upon A Star’ Ball will take place at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel on Saturday, March 9.

Based in Blackburn for more than 30 years, The Wish Centre charity helps and advises victims of domestic abuse.

The event will play a vital role in helping to raise funds so that they can continue providing support to more than 3,800 people each year, many of whom are often in a crisis with no one else to turn to.

The Wish Centre has two refuge houses which provide a safe environment for women and children until they are able to move into their own homes.

A decade of fundraising

Business finance specialist, Haydock Finance, has been fundraising for The Wish Centre for over a decade.

This summer, more than 20 of Haydock’s staff volunteered their time to transform a garden into a safe and beautiful space for the refuge’s women and children to sit and play. The team also worked with local businesses to organise donations for all the materials required for the project.

Debbie Hallam, Haydock’s head of HR & Facilities, (pictured left) said: “We are delighted to be the headline sponsor for The Wish Centre’s ‘Wish Upon A Star’ Ball. This will be a fantastic event which we are proud to support.

“The charity provides advice, guidance and accommodation to a rapidly growing number of victims each year. The increase in refuge referrals is 50 per cent compared to 2021/2022 so the charity needs our help so that they can continue to deliver much needed critical support.”

Rebekah Wilson of The Wish Centre (pictured right) said: “Working at The Wish Centre, we see and hear first-hand the struggles and fear that people impacted by domestic abuse go through. This is often physically and mentally. When there are also children involved, this can add additional insecurities about what is the right thing to do for the safety of the family.

“We are extremely thankful to Haydock Finance who do so much for our charity and the people we are supporting. We know that everyone will have a great time at the ball but on a serious note, the funds raised will provide a lifeline to someone in need.”

Tickets can be purchased for the black-tie event ball that includes a sparkling drink on arrival and entertainment, plus singing and dancing throughout the evening.
