As the holiday season is in full swing, Davpack, the UK’s preferred packaging supplier, has embarked on a quest to identify the nation’s top online Christmas shoppers.
Whether you’re an online shopping Santa, meticulously organising your virtual cart, or a traditional high-street shopper, the significance of durable cardboard boxes in delivering your festive gifts safely and beautifully packaged remains undisputed.
But which UK region truly embraces online shopping to the fullest? Davpack’s recent survey, involving over 600 participants, aimed to pinpoint where the most fervent online Christmas shoppers reside. Here’s what the data revealed about the UK regions most inclined to shop online during the festive period.
Leading the way in online shopping fervor are the residents of the East of England. They top the UK’s online shopping charts, averaging 30 online orders in the lead-up to Christmas. This not only highlights a pronounced shift towards digital shopping but also cements the East of England as the frontrunner in UK online shopping.
In contrast, the trend shifts as we head South. Data indicates that those in the South East are less inclined to shop for gifts online, with an average of 15 online orders during the festive season. Although still a noteworthy figure, it’s precisely half that of the East of England.
However, the most intriguing finding emerges from London. Here, it seems that traditional in-person shopping still holds sway, with Londoners averaging the fewest online orders – just 14 per person during the Christmas period.
