Middle-Aged Burnley Fan Turned Entrepeneur Starts Two Businesses in Lancashire

After 40 years in work, 57-year-old Paul Walsh from Burnley was inspired, following the death of his father, to start not only one business, but two.

Having worked as an employee since leaving school at 17, Paul has reflected on his future aspirations and decided to take the leap of faith and start his own business.

He has worked for Burnley Football Club, a job he loved – being a dedicated fan, and more recently at the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

Paul credits his time on furlough during the pandemic for allowing him the time to upskill himself and prepare to start his own business. In his research during this time, he discovered that many companies struggle with overwhelm, don’t collect essential customer data, or follow up on leads, among other tasks that help support growth, and worked to find a solution.

With a passion for marketing and automation, Paul is now supplying an all-in-one software platform that automates many repetitive business tasks, such as CRM data capture, email campaign design and implementation, social media posting, and many others. So businesses can concentrate on the other aspects of growth and servicing their customers.

He has taken his plans to help the business community one step further. He is opening a second business to fill a gap in the networking market in the Accrington area by providing a Business over Breakfast Club (BoB Club).

“Paul, ‘is experienced in developing businesses and is a natural when it comes to networking and building relationships,” says Tracy Heatley, a Marketing Mentor and Director of BoB Club North West Networking groups, who has been supporting Paul in opening his new second business.

Paul says, “I cannot wait to get started. The structure is perfect, and we’ve already got people joining to secure their business exclusive membership places”.

The new Accrington BoB Club launches on 5th May 2023 at The Dunkenalgh Hotel. Events Sales Manager Samantha Gibbs, who has already joined the new group, said, “We are delighted that Tracy and Paul have chosen our venue to host their breakfast networking meetings. I already know how effective BoB Clubs is in helping businesses win referral business, so we are delighted to be a part of it”.

Tracy said, “It’s been tough over the last few years. We hope this group will help boost business for all those involved. Having area coordinators like Paul is the way forward for BoB club’s North West. It means we can support more people and expand our networking groups. I wish I’d have done this years ago!”.
