Harrison Drury strengthens presence in Legal 500

Lancashire-based law firm Harrison Drury has expanded its presence in a prestigious annual guide to the UK’s top legal firms and solicitors.

The firm has placed in the influential Legal 500 publication for five of its legal specialisms, up from three the previous year.

It is now ranked in the list for its expertise in ‘corporate and commercial law’ and ‘corporate recovery and insolvency’ in addition to its specialisms in commercial litigation, commercial property law and property litigation.

The Legal 500 has acted as a guide to clients on the best law firms, lawyers, solicitors and barristers in over 150 jurisdictions around the world for over three decades.

To be included legal firms undergo a rigorous analysis and benchmarking process which includes interviews and feedback from clients and professional peers.

John Chesworth, executive chairman at Harrison Drury, said: “The Legal 500 continues to be a highly respected and authoritative guide to the law firms and lawyers that do an exceptionally good job for their clients.

“The reason it is held in such high esteem is that inclusion on the list is based on being able to demonstrate success and that it’s your team’s legal knowledge and experience that’s made it possible. The cases and client testimonials are thoroughly reviewed by a panel of experts.

“We’re once again proud that the firm has been included in this year’s Legal 500. It is also pleasing to see a number of our lawyers receiving specific praise, though it’s testament to the whole team’s hard work and dedication that we’ve been able to achieve this.”

In Harrison Drury’s Legal 500 listing, the firm’s commercial litigation team was described as being “well connected and respected in the market”. Practice head Sean Gibbs is praised for his “great touch with clients” and director Nick Booth described as “an intellectual powerhouse”.

The commercial property team is commended for its “diverse range of knowledge” with director Simon England described as “commercially savvy, pragmatic and an excellent communicator” and Naomi Fell celebrated for her knowledge in residential conveyancing matters for large clients.

Kerry Southworth and Jack Stephenson are listed as key lawyers in the corporate and commercial team which is applauded for its ability to “make technical legal matters easily understood”. The team is noted for its experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, management buyouts and shareholder agreements.

The firm’s listing for its insolvency and corporate recovery work praises team head James Robbins for providing “a brilliant service to clients with high quality advice on complex issues”.

Harrison Drury’s property litigation team are described as “excellent professionals, dedicated to clients, friendly and pleasant to work with on all levels” with director Colin Fenny known for “the ability to blend legal and practical knowledge together to bring a solution that exceeds the client’s aims”.
