RTC, who are experts in building preservation and basement and structural waterproofing, marks its 30th anniversary.
Co-founders and company partners Andrew Bradshaw and Jamie Willacy set out in 1990 with a vision and belief, of building a company that was a cut above the rest. With what started as a two-man band and an office in a back bedroom of a house, would one day become a long-standing award-winning company.
The company is now by far the most qualified and professionally accredited in the area, indeed, there are very few preservation firms nationally who can better RTC’s credentials.
Mr Bradshaw said he’s extremely proud that the company has reached such a significant milestone and is looking forward to many more years of prosperity.
He said: “Our strategy has always been to offer the best possible service, and we have always wanted to push the boundaries. Our commitment to quality, competence and service has enabled us to stay at the forefront of the industry and surpass even our own expectations”.
“The last 30 years have been a challenge and to reach this stage has not been by any means easy. But we’ve always believed in what we’re doing and what we’re trying to achieve and have been quite single-minded in that approach.”
Mr Bradshaw says the company’s investment in staff and training has been a vitally important ingredient in their success.
“Training and qualifications are the backbone of any successful company and we’ve been very keen to encourage the development of our workforce and that has paid enormous dividends.”
He added: “We have a great team here and that has helped immensely, as doing the job right and making sure our customers and staff are happy has always been the most important thing to us. Consumers are ever more conscious about getting value for money, and our commitment to customer care really does set us apart from our competitors.”
During RTC’s exciting journey so far, there have been many notable achievements.
In the year 2000, RTC were one of the first companies in the country to use Safeguards revolutionary product DryZone. RTC were also asked to provide input and feedback for a new product called DryGrip, an industry first water-proof dry lining system. Both these innovative products have modernised traditional methods of treating dampness and are still at the forefront today.
Other landmarks include the appointment of Andrew Bradshaw to become the national chairman for the Property Care Association (PCA), the preservation industries only governing body.
In 2016, RTC were personally invited by the BBC, to take part in the renowned DIY SOS: The Big Build, teaming up with Nick Knowles and all the gang to assist with one of their projects in Manchester. Also, in 2019, RTC were involved in an innovative flood resilience project in Cumbria which recently won the Environment Agency’s project excellence award for climate resilience.
The company has recently moved into a new purpose-built Head Office on Palmer Avenue, Blackpool, which boasts large offices and warehouse space, and a designated training room.
RTC carries out all aspects of building preservation and structural waterproofing in the domestic and commercial sectors and now covers the entire North West.
Specialist treatments include damp proofing and dampness treatments, wet and dry rot treatments, woodworm treatments, cavity wall tie replacement, structural repairs, flood remediation, basement and structural waterproofing and the design and installation of ground gas membranes.
RTC is also a member of the industry’s governing body, the Property Care Association. It is TrustMark approved (Government Endorsed Standards), is a Which? Trusted Trader and are CHAS and Construction line accredited.
