Accrington man coaches latest world snooker champion and hopes to share these performance based skills with local businesses

In a virtually unknown scenario, Accrington born subconscious performance coach, Chris Henry, is celebrating a unique double. It is believed that he is the first person to simultaneously coach both the latest world snooker champion and the runner up.

At the recent world snooker championships in Sheffield, Mark Shelby was the winner and Shaun Murphy was the runner up. Chris has been utilising his neuroscience based subconscious performance coaching with Mark for nearly a year and Shaun for several years, as well as with many leading European Tour golfers, such as Lee Westwood and Rafa Cabrera-Bello.

Commented Chris: “My seven step process, called neural rewiring, is based on managing an individual’s behaviours and their thought process to help stop negative thinking happening in the first place. This process helps an individual create good subconscious habits and improve their self belief.

“It originated in the USA, where it is widely used to create positive automatic thoughts, through a repetition process, that uses emotions to improve performance. Fairly quickly, the individual starts to feel more confident and emotionally in a good place. This is clearly a benefit for a world class sportsperson.

“Having had years of success with several leading sportsmen, my company, Neural Rewiring Ltd, is now taking the lessons learnt into the business world, helping stressed out executives to manage their workloads and personal development, including a recent seminar for MasterCard in Budapest.

“Hopefully, the improved mental processes which helped Mark Shelby become a world snooker champion, will soon help local business people in Lancashire.”
