The original date for the Burnley Vintage Car Show was postponed out of respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II. After having previously been scheduled to run on Saturday 10th September it has now been rearranged to take place on Saturday 24th September after news of The Monarch’s passing was announced.
Taking place in the town centre from 11am-4pm, visitors will still be able to see a range of unique and historic vehicles from yesteryear as had already been planned.
The DeLorean from Back to the Future will also be in attendance alongside a Jeep from Jurassic Park to add even more of a retro feel to proceedings.
As well as classic cars, the Burnley Alliance Silver Band are set to entertain the crowds in the afternoon, and if you’re a petrol head you’ll want to check out the Rotary Club of Burnley’s stall where people can take part in a competition to win a supercar driving experience.
Families won’t want to miss the Burnley Leisure team either who’ll be in town with some of the Dinosaurs from their summer events.
Exhibitors from all over the North-West of England are scheduled to appear at the show which is being organised by Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Burnley Council, Charter Walk and the Rotary Club of Burnley.
Burnley BID Project Manager Andrew Dean is looking forward to the rescheduled show and hopes that everyone who’d planned to attend the original event comes along.
“We had to take a difficult decision to postpone the first event as it was only 24 hours away at the time but we felt it was the only course of action we could take in light of the circumstances.
“If you had Saturday 10th September in your diary then please pop Saturday 24th in as well because it’s shaping up to be a great day out for the whole family.”
