Healthcare App Launched by Chorley Firm to Cut Treatment Waits

‘My Health Assistant’, an app giving easy access to private healthcare services and treatment options – as well as extra income for self-employed healthcare professionals, has been launched by a Chorley-based firm.

My Health Assistant connects people with quality checked professionals, ranging from counsellors and psychotherapists, through to nutritionists, personal trainers, physios, life coaches and many more. The app makes it easy to view profiles ‘on the go’ and pick the best professional to suit your needs.

Over 60 therapeutic areas are covered throughout the UK, making it simple to search by locality, profile and user reviews. Appointments can be booked directly on the app and office-based staff offer telephone and email support providing high levels of customer service and reassuring advice.

More than 200 healthcare professionals have joined the service since it was launched in March from offices at Strawberry Fields business centre, with more joining each day.  The four strong team has over 45 years’ experience in the medical and customer service industries. Co-founder, Kate Wild, was inspired to set up the firm after her family struggled to access NHS treatment during lockdown.

Kate said: “During the pandemic it was traumatic for myself and my family to wait for NHS treatment for worrying health conditions. Stress is known to make illnesses worse and by spending just a few hundred pounds, we were able to get rapid diagnoses and a treatment plan that set our minds at rest.

“Private healthcare doesn’t have to have a big price tag and for most people, peace of mind is priceless.  What’s also great about our service, is that it opens up an extra income stream for workers such as nurses and carers.  It can be a big leap to go self-employed, so we help with the admin duties of setting up a ‘virtual office’ through our app, which gives our professionals more time helping patients.”
