Lancashire ERP consultancy launches software developer graduate training scheme to support aggressive expansion plans

Smart IT, a leading ERP consultancy has launched a graduate recruitment programme targeting developers to join its expanding UK team. The Odoo gold partner is looking to recruit up to four developers over the next three months with plans to create up to 20 new jobs over the next three years in its software development arm.

The company, which has offices in Kirkham, Edinburgh and Vancouver, Canada has a fast-growing number of clients, nationally and internationally, and specialises in ERP software, specifically Odoo.

“Despite Covid-19 Smart IT continues to fulfil its ambitious growth trajectory,” states Barry Bullen, Smart IT.

“We are rapidly expanding and are constantly active in the recruitment market. But we thought by launching a graduate programme we can bring people in to the fold who we can train in the Smart IT way from the outset.”

Smart IT software developers will get to work on a variety of projects, including ERP development and applications.

Trainee developers will learn how to diagnose and fix software faults while working with a mentor. Future responsibilities will include assisting with the ongoing development of coding standards and participating in the quality control activities undertaken in the team, such as test plan creation and code walkthroughs. This is an opportunity to gain experience of commercial applications development in a professional software company.

Due to COVID-19 Smart IT has implemented alternative working arrangements to ensure that all employees and potential candidates stay safe. These consist of remote working, virtual training, video interviewing, and access to webinars and virtual events. Applications for graduate roles in the field of software development are now open. Interested applicants can find out more and apply via Smart IT’s website.
