PM+M throws festival themed event to mark its 100th birthday

To celebrate its centenary year, PM+M – the chartered accountancy, business advisory and wealth management group – threw a festival themed event for its clients, contacts and friends on Friday 13th September. The party, which took place in the grounds of Samlesbury Hall in Preston, included an afternoon of live entertainment, acoustic music from Steven Heath and street food.

PM+M was founded in Blackburn by Richard Porter, John Matthews and Walter Hindle Marsden in 1919. It now also has operations in Burnley and Bury. Throughout its history, PM+M has remained fully independent and now employs 117 people with an annual turnover of £6.5m.

Earlier in the year, the firm kicked off its 100 birthday celebrations by renaming its Blackburn headquarters ‘New Century House’. It was also included in the UK’s top 100 firms list by Accountancy Age magazine and more recently launched a new website signifying the firm’s commitment to strengthening the PM+M brand.

Jane Parry, PM+M’s managing partner, said: “2019 has been an historic year for PM+M. We are incredibly proud to be based in the North West, and the fact that we are going strong after 100 years is testament to the great team that we have and the strong relationships that we have with our clients and the wider business community.

Jane added: “We work with clients of all sizes across the UK, as well as internationally, but the firm has always had deep Blackburn roots and we are proud of our relationships with local businesses and communities. We wanted to hold the party to thank as many people as possible for their ongoing support and collaboration.”
