REM UK celebrates a landmark 100 Years in Business

Lancashire based REM UK Limited has recently celebrated one hundred years in business. Over the past century, REM have grown into an international supplier of high quality furniture, exporting products all over Europe, America and the Far East. From humble beginnings, selling solely electrical hairdryers, REM now employs around 80 skilled staff at their facility in Nelson.

Commercial Director, Trevor Lingard, said: “It’s been a long journey for REM. From our roots as an Electrical Manufacturer through the mid 1900’s, we’ve now developed into the UK’s market-leader in the supply of salon & spa furniture and are now breaking out into the Global market. Testament has to go to the team we work with at REM and the hard work put into the business.”

To celebrate their achievement, REM created a unique range of salon furniture, aptly named the ‘Centenary Range’. This new range of products combines traditional manufacturing methods with contemporary, cutting edge design

To promote the launch REM chose Lancashire based design agency, D&M Creative, to help brand the Centenary Range in a variety of ways including; print and digital media to reflect the dynamic history of REM.

Creative Director at D&M, Damian Greenwood, added: “It’s been an honour to have worked with REM. A project as personal as a historical timeline conjures up many images and significant moments throughout history and I feel that the result speaks for itself.”

Trevor added “working with Damian has been a pleasure, he completely understood what we wanted to achieve. The timeline now proudly hangs in our reception area and I couldn’t be happier with the it.”
