Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA Moore and Smalley are supporting young talent by offering an apprenticeship scheme to school and college leavers. The firm recruits across its nine offices in Preston, Blackpool, Southport, Lancaster, Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham.
Over the last three years the firm has seen a 27% increase in apprentices since 2016 and currently has 38 employees undertaking an apprenticeship with the firm.
The scheme enables those undertaking an apprenticeship to have their exam training and study fully funded, exposes them to real life experience of working with clients and latterly the apprentices have the additional option to take further professional exams upon qualification. The firm also offers a secondment programme presenting the opportunity for professional development overseas for their apprentices.
Rebecca Coombes, HR Director at MHA Moore and Smalley, said: “An apprenticeship is a fantastic way to start a career in accountancy. Our apprentices gain first-hand knowledge of how the industry works, they get to earn whilst they learn and develop the exact skills that we need for our business, thus enabling investment in the future of MHA Moore and Smalley.”
The tailored apprenticeship scheme has an excellent reputation for providing a broad base of skills with real value in the commercial marketplace. The programme is designed to give apprentices responsibility at an early age to help mould their career.
