Lancashire-based WHN Solicitors has topped up Santa’s stocking to ensure some of the county’s most disadvantaged children have a magical Christmas.
The law firm, which has offices in seven Lancashire and Greater Manchester locations, has helped spread Christmas cheer by donating a flurry of toys and treats to Bury Council for its annual fostering service Christmas party.
A total of 40 presents, including books, Jenga, toiletries and selection boxes, were dropped off and handed out by Father Christmas to over 100 children and foster carers at the party.
The donation helped ensure Santa had a special present for every child.
Katharine Marshall, associate solicitor at WHN Solicitors, commented: “The cause is very close to our hearts, so we’re happy to extend a hand and help bring a little cheer to the children who need it most. This is the twelfth year WHN has supported Bury Council’s fostering service and we very much hope to continue into the future.
“It’s a way we can act in true Christmas spirit and donate extra gifts to help make the Christmas of disadvantaged young people who really deserve it. It really did put a smile on their faces.”
Jan Leatherbarrow, fostering team manager at Bury Council, added: “WHN Solicitors provided some wonderful gifts which were given to the children at our Christmas party by Santa on December 10.
“The children were overjoyed, and all of the gifts were greatly received, the smiles on the children’s faces were brilliant to see. Contributions like this really help to make a difference and support our foster carers in giving the children the best possible Christmas. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us.”
