Lyndhurst Precision Engineering offers state-of-the-art facility to apprentice

Chorley-based, Lyndhurst Precision Engineering has welcomed an apprentice from a valued customer to help them complete a vital part of their apprenticeship.

Brad Scott is undertaking his engineering apprenticeship with NIS Ltd in Chorley, currently in his fourth and final year, Brad requires additional experience in machining to complete his apprenticeship, which is where Lyndhurst comes in.

As a result, Paul Jones, Production Manager at NIS and his counterpart at Lyndhurst, Stuart Walker reached an agreement for Brad to join Lyndhurst on secondment using the firm’s CNC machining centres.

Now working with the Lyndhurst’s skilled engineers, Brad will go on to further his studies once his secondment atLyndhurst is completed.

Brad said: “I want to thank Lyndhurst Precision Engineering for welcoming me into their fantastic facility, I’ve learned a lot about CNC machining here and my time working with both NIS and Lyndhurst has only added to my desire to pursue a career in engineering.”

Mark Marriner, managing director, Lyndhurst Precision Engineering, added: “It was a delight to facilitate Brad’s need to work with CNC machines. Our state-of-the-art CNC machining centre. We produce components for the nuclear, defence, medical and renewable energy sectors are manufactured. This will have given Brad a breadth of experience and I hope he continues his studies and achieves a career in engineering.

“This is a great example of a positive working relationship between companies, in sharing good practice and working collaboratively to achieve common goals. We hope that this can be a start of many more similar arrangements, to ensure that the talent of the future continues to grow and develop locally.

“We are committed to helping apprentices in any way we can at Lyndhurst, we have helped a number of people hoping to attain a career in engineering gain the valuable experience they need to achieve their qualifications and look forward to welcoming many more.”
