Forbes Solicitors Skydivers Raise £1,133 For Blackburn Youth Zone

Brave fundraisers from Forbes Solicitors have raised £1,133 for Blackburn Youth Zone by completing a tandem skydive from 15,000 feet.

Tom Smith, Partner & Head of Dispute Resolution, David Mayor, an Associate Solicitor with the Insurance team, and Trainee Solicitor Lucy Bailey completed the jump at the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham near Lancaster.

Blackburn Youth Zone, based on Jubilee Street, creates positive futures for the young people of Blackburn with Darwen, promoting cohesion, skills and aspirations, and health and wellbeing.

It has a growing membership of more than 3,000 young people, aged 8-19 (up to 25 with disabilities) and receives over 900 visits each week.

All funds raised from this event will go to supporting projects such as; diversity club, employability, LGBT support and mentoring.

Tom, who is based at Forbes’ Central Lancashire office, said: “It was an incredible experience and unlike anything I have done before. It was a great opportunity to raise money for Blackburn Youth Zone, which is such a great charity in the local community.”

David, based at Forbes offices in Blackburn, said: “This was undeniably the most amazing experience ever, made even better by the fact that we managed to raise so much for such a worthy cause.”

Lucy added: “What an amazing, exhilarating experience I would definitely recommend it and would do it again.”

Raz Mohammed, Chief Executive of Blackburn Youth Zone said: “We are delighted by the generosity and support from the local community and businesses.

“These events raise essential funds to provide young people with somewhere safe to go, someone to talk to and a positive role model to listen to them and engage them in positive activities for just 50p a visit.

“Together we are making a difference to thousands of young people’s lives each year and are grateful for this support. I’d encourage more individuals and businesses to give locally and support local charities.”
