The best of food suppliers, servers and manufacturers in England are to be recognised

The fifth Food Awards England are back, following the enormous success over the last four years. The list with finalists has now been compiled, based on the tremendous number of nominations received from the public.

The black-tie event will take place at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, on Monday 15th October, when the best professionals of the English food industry will gather for a glamorous night to celebrate the success of local suppliers, servers and businesses in the industry.

Clegg’s Chilled Food Service, Longridge has been shortlisted in the Exceptional Restaurant of the Year category. Clegg’s will find out if they will be crowned winners at the elegant ceremony taking place in October.

General Manger, Paul Masterson, commented: “We are extremely proud to be nominated for this prestigious award and winning it would be a massive achievement for our company and our staff. This award will add other awards that we have won in recent years. In 2015 we won Chilled food Supplier of the Year and in 2017 we were honoured to be awarded Wholesale Food Supplier of the Year. Winning Exceptional Restaurant Supplier of the Year would be a great way to round off an already amazing year, in which has seen Clegg’s not only retain some key lucrative contracts but also win some new ones too this has enabled us to expand our delivery area across the North of England and invest in the infrastructure of our company.

“After winning last years award we saw an increase of enquiries for our services and gaining the new business meant we increased our employee numbers, these employees come mainly from the local community.”

The awards seek to recognise the hard work and efforts of those committed to always providing the English communities with the freshest of products and tastes. They will also showcase the best restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros, as well as those who help us  explore new flavours and cuisines from different cultures.

The Food Awards England 2018 promise to be the most memorable event in the food industry’s calendar this year, with a wide range of accolades to be presented to the most deserving professionals and establishments in the field, including Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, Cooking School of the Year and many more.

Irfan Younis, CEO Of Creative Oceanic said: “We have had an overwhelming response from the English public who voted for their favourite establishments and suppliers. All finalists should feel very proud of themselves as it is their clients who have put them forward to get the recognition they deserve.

“With fierce competition this year, we are looking forward to welcoming the meritorious professionals that operate within the English food industry, who have dedicated their career in providing us with great gastronomic delights and enhancing the reputation of the country. We would like to wish all the finalists the best of luck.”
