RSM expands North West tax team with two senior hires

Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has expanded its North West tax practice with the appointment of two new directors.

Helen Guy joins RSM from KPMG where she was the national lead for creative sector tax reliefs. She specialises in innovation tax reliefs, including R&D tax relief, patent box and creative sector tax reliefs. She also brings key industry knowledge to the position following an early career in TV production before retraining as a tax practitioner.

Patrick Curry, who also joins from KPMG, has over 15 years’ experience in corporate tax working with large businesses across the North West. He has supported a range of businesses from start-up technology companies to private equity backed and listed groups, through acquisitions, disposals, restructuring and global expansion. He also brings significant sector experience across manufacturing, retail, infrastructure and technology.

In their new roles, Helen and Patrick will work with the 110-strong North West tax team to grow the regional innovation relief offering and further enhance RSM’s technical and sector expertise within the team.

The expansion in the North West team, which now comprises over 680 partners and staff, underlines RSM’s growth ambitions in the local market.

Jill Jones, RSM’S regional managing partner in the North West, said: “Helen and Patrick’s appointments demonstrate our ongoing commitment to attracting and retaining talent. Both strategic hires enhance, and complement, our regional offering and will play a key role in our growth across the North West. It’s great to have them on board.”
