Lytham St Annes care home celebrates first anniversary

To celebrate its first anniversary, The Hamptons Care Centre, in Lytham St Annes, hosted a spectacular party for residents and their relatives, as well as staff.

While team members dressed up as superheroes, the star guests on the day were a trio of farm animals, including a donkey, goat and lamb.

Unique, educational and both an interactive and stimulating experience for the residents, the petting zoo animals were a big hit.

Furthermore, a fabulous cake, an array of refreshments and various entertainment ensured the party was full swing throughout the day.

Lorraine Disley, the manager at The Hamptons, said: “We have enjoyed an amazing first year at The Hamptons, welcoming residents and helping them settle into their new home.  We really wanted to celebrate this milestone with our residents, so many months were spent planning the event, with the whole team involved.

“The party came together perfectly, and the laughter of the residents could be heard all day.  From seeing the staff in superhero fancy dress costumes to tucking into cake, everything about the day was fun.  No words can describe the delight and excitement of the residents when the petting zoo animals arrived.  Those memories are priceless. It really was a superb day and I am so proud of the whole team for their efforts and enthusiasm.”

Having been a resident at The Hamptons for 10 months, Peter Hale, added: “I couldn’t believe it when the donkey, goat and lamb appeared in the garden.  It was lovely to see the farm animals and I enjoyed petting and stroking them all.  It was a good party and a great way to celebrate the home’s first anniversary.”
