Over 140 people attended the recent Lancaster & District Chamber President’s Dinner held at the Lancaster House Hotel. Chaired by Chamber President, Alistair Eagles, the Dinner raised £1,500 for the Chamber’s Charity of the Year, Lancaster & District Homeless Action Shelter (LDHAS).
Commented Vicky Lofthouse, CEO, Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce: “Thank you to everyone who helped us raise this fantastic amount. The funds will go towards maintaining the daily operation of Lancaster & District Homeless Action Shelter’s Edward Street, Lancaster base – providing attendees with showers and laundry, breakfast and lunch, as well as advocacy and support to those experiencing homelessness or those at risk of being homeless.”
In response, Sandra O’Neill, Finance Manager, at the Homeless Shelter added: “On behalf of all the staff, trustees, volunteers and clients of LDHAS, our sincere thanks go to everyone who contributed to the funds received.
“Just as importantly, the event provided an opportunity for our ‘voice’ to be heard and to provide information about our work to those who may have not heard about LDHAS.”
