Farleys partner with Rosemere for Make a Will Week

Blackburn Law firm Farleys Solicitors are pleased to announce a ‘Make a Will Week’, in conjunction with Rosemere Cancer Foundation, which works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Only a third of people in the UK have made a Will and of those,  half  have never updated it. After major life changes such as getting married, having children or moving house, it is important to ensure you have an up-to-date Will.

From Monday 23 – Friday 29 October, people across Lancashire will have the opportunity to make an appointment with Farleys to make, or update their Will in return for a donation towards Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal.

Appointments must be booked during the Make a Will week, but can be taken up until 30 November 2017. Suggested minimum donations are £100 for a single Will and £150 for a pair of Mirror Wills, with all fees being donated directly to Rosemere.

Phil Taylor, Partner and Head of Private Client at Farleys Solicitors said: “Rosemere Cancer Centre is an incredible place, doing amazing work for patients and their families and we are delighted to run our Make a Will Week to support their work.  It’s a great opportunity for our team to come together and use our skills to raise much needed funds for such a worthy cause.”

Cathy Skidmore, Corporate and Grants Fundraiser at Rosemere said: “We would like to thank Farleys for their support in this. By making an appointment you can not only secure your plans for the future but also provide vital support for a local charity.”

The Make a Will Week is one of a number of fundraising activities being organised by Farleys Solicitors as part of a £10,000 pledge to Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s appeal, which launched in March to mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s regional specialist cancer treatment centre, the Rosemere Cancer Centre, at the Royal Preston Hospital.

The centre treats patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria and through the appeal, Rosemere Cancer Foundation has committed to equipping it with the world’s most advanced robotic surgical system to enable more patients to undergo keyhole rather than open surgery.

The appeal is also funding a state-of-the-art research facility to give more patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials in order that they have access to the newest medicines and therapies currently being developed and to the modernisation of the in-patient Ribblesdale Ward.

To participate in Rosemere’s Make a Will Week, simply contact Farleys Solicitors between Monday 23 – Friday 29 October 2017 on 01254 229800, or email [email protected]  referencing “Make a Will Week”
