Lancashire councils invite the ‘Customer Whisperer’ to Central Lancashire Business Event 2017

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Customer at the Heart’ and award winning businesswoman Kate Hardcastle will share her expert and practical advice on how to provide the most effective customer service for today’s modern consumer.  Almost 250 business people have already registered to pick up tips, network and speak to business advice and support organisations.

The free event, organised by Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Councils, with support from Events Northern, is being hosted at the The Invincibles Lounge, Preston between 5.30pm – 8.30pm on Tuesday 3 October.

In an earlier afternoon session, 1.00pm – 4.00pm, local contractors will get the chance to meet some of the major developers currently operating across the region, at a new ‘Meet the Buyer’ event in conjunction with the Central Lancashire Construction Skills Hub.

Leader of Preston City Council, Councillor Peter Rankin, said: “We are fortunate that Preston and Lancashire is home to many innovative and growing businesses. Supporting our local business community is an important part of our work in Preston and these events are always a major draw. I am confident that businesses will go away with some great ideas and new contacts to help them grow and move forward.”

Councillor Phil Smith, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Leisure at South Ribble Borough Council said: “This event provides a fantastic opportunity for businesses of all shapes and sizes to make new connections and hear from some of the best speakers in the industry – and it’s free!

“South Ribble Borough Council is absolutely committed to supporting our local businesses and helping them grow, and the Central Lancashire Business Event is just one way we aim to do that year-on-year.

“Whether you’re a start-up or an established firm, come along and be inspired!”

Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Alistair Bradley, said: “These types of events where we get our local businesses together are a great way for them to network and develop their business opportunities locally.

“The customer experience of a business can have a huge impact on reputation, particularly with how quickly information can be spread using social media, so I’m sure there will be plenty of useful tips to take away from the day.”
