As part of their pledge to give something back to the community, Burnley based Managed IT Service provider Seriun have donated a portion of their repurposed PCs to Burnley Youth Theatre.
Seriun looked upon Burnley Youth Theatre to be a recipient of some of their refurbished PCs because of the synergy between their charitable aims to develop and inspire young people creatively and innovatively.
Burnley Youth Theatre was created in 1973 and has become a vibrant youth arts organisation offering participatory workshops in drama, dance, musical theatre and film, as well as training opportunities for young people to develop a career in the arts.
Tierney Smith, Youth Board member at Burnley Youth Theatre said: “The new PCs will be a great help to all of us at the theatre who are involved behind the scenes in developing shows, as we will be able to use them to design our sets and create the promotional flyers and advertising for our productions and fundraising activities.”
Seriun are Burnley based, with an additional office in Warrington, and have been providing full service IT support, telecommunication solutions and bespoke software development to businesses nationwide, and beyond, since 2003. Their renowned service has recently been recognised at this year’s Burnley Business Awards where they were awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ accolade for Small Business of the Year.
Paul Gilbert, Support Engineer at Seriun presented the PCs to the theatre commenting: “The theatre does a tremendous amount of great work with our young people, both my son Jack, and daughter Emily have auditioned there and appeared in various shows over the years, and are now progressing their careers in the arts, and that’s down to their Burnley Youth Theatre roots. Also, as the theatre is independent and relies only on donations, it’s nice to know we can go a small way to helping them achieve their goals.”
Leroy Philbrook Executive Director of Burnley Youth Theatre said: “It is fantastic that Seriun are now supporting Burnley Youth Theatre. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of local business and the public to help us engage with thousands of young people in Burnley and Lancashire.”
