CoolKit receive ATP accreditation from Department for Transport

CoolKit has been issued with a certification by the UK Department for Transport demonstrating that their refrigerated vehicles meet the required quality standards to transport perishable foods.

The Burnley-based refrigerated van conversion specialist has received the Class-C ATP certificate which verifies that their vehicles have undergone rigorous testing to ensure that both the bodywork and refrigeration units conform to the high standards required.

The ATP certification has been in force in the UK since October 1980, providing common internationally recognised standards for overland cross-border of perishable foods. The award verifies that the quality of the items being carried is preserved, that the vans have the appropriate level of insulation and that the temperature conditions are adequate.

Rupert Gatty, Managing Director of CoolKit, said: “As the UK’s leading manufacturer of fridge vans, it is imperative that we provide the option for all our vehicles to be issued with ATP type approval. By demonstrating the overall superior quality of our conversions – from the in-house design and manufacturing of the insulated lining kit, to the correct installation of the refrigeration unit – we create a complete state-of-the-art fridge conversion.”

Cameron Javed, Sales Director, added: “Our customers want to know they can trust our products and services. “The ATP certification makes sure we are one step ahead of the competition, providing a state-of-the-art service to our growing portfolio of customers.

Whether they require an ATP Certificate or not, it provides them with peace of mind on the quality and capability of our refrigerated vehicles.”
