Preston-based Lifeline Language Services is helping Chorley-based Group55 communicate in its export markets after a meeting at a local awards ceremony.
With its three brands – Animology, DogStar and Strikeback – Group55 manufactures products that protect and care for families and pets, exporting to over 50 countries around the world.
With twelve staff at its Preston city centre offices, Lifeline works with a selected team of some 3,500 freelance linguists worldwide in over 150 languages, to provide a full range of language services including translation, interpretation, voiceover, multilingual DTP, and subtitling to customers in the UK and across the world.
Both companies were finalists in the International Achievement category at the Red Rose Awards 2017, with Group55 declared the winner in front of 1,100 guests at a glittering ceremony at Winter Gardens Blackpool in March.
Though officially rivals in the awards, the two companies got talking during the process and Lifeline has since been engaged to provide translation of packaging and instructions for Group55 products into a variety of languages.
Lifeline’s Managing Director Lynn Everson says: “It was great to get in touch with Group55 during the awards process and we’re proud to be working with such a prolific exporter, selling their products to the world from right here in Lancashire. We’re dedicated to ensuring exporting companies communicate properly in all their markets – accurate translation really is vital for export success. It’s become apparent that poor translation really hurts potential exports, but the reverse is also true – good professional translation is key to growing export markets. We’re keen exporters ourselves and we’re always pleased to help others, whether they’re already exporting or would like to be.”
