Local Recruiters Achieve Gold Investors in People Accreditation

Accrington-based Cummins Mellor Group are celebrating being awarded the coveted Investors in People (IIP) Gold accreditation against the latest version of the leading best practice standard.

The accolade means they are one of only 7 businesses in Lancashire and one of only 8 recruitment businesses in the whole of the UK to achieve IIP Gold across the sixth generation of the standard.

Michelle Mellor, Managing Director of the Cummins Mellor Group commented on the achievement; “The business has held IIP status since 1998 but when the framework changed in late 2015 to award different levels of IIP Standard we knew we had to go for gold!

I’m incredibly proud of the whole business and all we do together. This award is justification of the highest standards and the dedication and the pride we all share together as a team. The award is so well deserved and great recognition for us all.”

Investors in People assessor Carol Davidson said; “My association with the Cummins Mellor Group as their Investors in People Assessor has spanned almost a decade and I’m delighted that they have achieved the Gold Award against the more challenging Standard.   As a business they have a clear vision of creating better workplaces and a safer society and a strong set of core values that are embedded and integral to how they operate on a day to day basis.

The Cummins Mellor Group have demonstrated good practice in a number of areas with a strong leadership team at the helm who are supportive and ensure that their people are empowered to be innovative in their roles, giving recognition and rewarding individuals and teams for the contribution they make to the success of the business.  A positive approach had been taken with regards to corporate social responsibility with strong relationships formed within their local and the wider community which supports the vision of the company.”
