Happy Creative director putting his best foot forward for charity

The director of a Blackpool-based marketing agency is putting his best foot forward to give prostate cancer the boot.

Simon Brooke, director of strategy at Happy Creative will be joining Sky Sports legend Jeff Stelling on his March For Men next month as he treks 57 miles from Oldham to Blackpool for prostate cancer.

Also a director of Oldham Athletic, Simon has to raise over £600 on his two-day marathon which sees him travel from his beloved Boundary Park, via Accrington Stanley’s Crown Ground, Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park stadium to the Fylde where he will end at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road.

Simon will set off from Oldham on June 9th and finish at Blackpool FC the following day.

Along the way he will be raising the profile of the cause and hoping to pull in more coffers through well-wishers.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and the work Prostate Cancer do is making a huge difference in survival rates of this disease.

Simon said: “Several colleagues of mine have been through it and this, combined with the amazing walk that Jeff is doing again gave me the perfect opportunity to support such a worthy charity.

“I watched Jeff Stelling’s progress on the walk last year and was definitely signing up this year if the opportunity presented itself.  Jeff is a big hero of mine as the presenter of Soccer Saturday so I’m pleased to have the opportunity to join him for a small part of the challenge.

“Training is going well.  I love walking and usually walk about 30/35 miles a week so just a little step up in training.  It’s helped as I make my way back from a knee injury I suffered in January.”
