Investors invited to Lancashire Business Angels

Haworths Chartered Accountants is calling all Lancashire investors to take part in its eight Business Angels event in Blackburn on Thursday 27th April, 2017.

Hosted at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Blackburn Hotel, Lancashire Business Angels will see five shortlisted individuals or teams take a 10 minute slot to pitch their ideas at a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style event. Entrepreneurs will share their business plans outlining future growth plans and the investment required which is usually between £20,000 and £500,000. Guests will also be able to network before and after the pitches.

The event is free to attend and welcomes a mixture of high net-worth individuals, angel investors, businesses looking for investment as well as venture capital and private equity professionals, creating an excellent networking forum for investors and entrepreneurs.

This year’s event will be kicked off with keynote speaker, Gareth Gibson, business development manager at Yingde Group which facilitates cooperation between Chinese investors and various groups within the UK business sector that are looking for funding.

Paul Spencer, director at Haworths Chartered Accountants, said: “We liaise with entrepreneurs directly, and also work with North West Business Angels to select the best businesses for the event. The competition to get shortlisted can be tough but it ensures that investors at each event see high quality pitches. It has also meant that individuals from each event have successfully pitched and received investment through contacts made on the day.

“The event is a great platform for investors to meet with a number of businesses face to face, helping make their investment decisions without spending much time.  As finance can be difficult to obtain, entrepreneurs need to take advantage of such events as Lancashire Business Angels and promote themselves to investors and fellow young businesses alike.”

Investors can register to take part in the event here. For more information about the event or its sponsor, Haworths Chartered Accountants, visit www.haworths.co.uk
