B&M Waste and Hydes Brewery make a positive green impact

Carbon Neutral B&M Waste Services offer recycling-led waste management solutions to their customers and this year have gone one step further in terms of improving their green credentials, as well as that of their customers. This year they have planted a number of trees at customer sites to offset the carbon impact of the company. Most recently ten Oak trees were planted by Mick Ashall, Director of B&M Waste Services, along with Josh Brierly, Deputy Manager at Hydes Brewery’s Jolly Thresher in Lymm, Cheshire.

Through B&M Waste’s stringent Carbon Management plan the company continues to minimise its environmental impact through the use of green fleet with Euro 6 engines, plug-in hybrid cars and zero waste to landfill policy. Having been accredited as Carbon Neutral for the sixth year running the company offsets the small carbon impact it does have supporting landfill gas reclamation projects in developing countries such as Turkey and also planting trees across the UK.

Mick Ashall, Director of B&M Waste Services said “Working closely with customers means we work together to improve their environmental impact. Through planting trees on-site, we are not only offsetting carbon impact but creating a lovely environment for their customers to enjoy.”

Mat Wilson, Hydes Brewery said “It’s great working with B &M Waste. We now achieve 95% diversion from landfill across our 24 sites and the additional offering of trees to be planted across our sites is a nice touch.”
