Blackpool Transport is celebrating Catch the Bus Month 2024

Blackpool Transport is supporting this September’s Catch the Bus Month 2024.
The all-accessible event, run by Bus Users UK, takes place from 10am-2pm on September 22, outside Central Pier on the Promenade.
Open to everyone, it will offer visitors a chance to get more acquainted with public transport in a welcoming and supportive setting. They can meet the staff, ask questions, and gain confidence, particularly those who may find using public transport challenging. The event aims to make future journeys more comfortable and accessible for all.

Jane Cole, managing director of Blackpool Transport said: “Our buses play a crucial role in connecting communities and providing accessible transport for everyone. Our goal with this event is to create a supportive environment where everyone can become more familiar with our services, meet members of our friendly team, and gain the confidence they need to use public transport comfortably.”
Lydia Horbury, Bus Users director for England said: “We are delighted that Blackpool Transport is supporting this year’s Catch the Bus Month. Buses are accessible, sustainable and affordable, and getting more people on board reduces congestion leading to faster, more reliable bus services. Win-win!”
Blackpool Transport is a local, award-winning bus and tram operator serving the Fylde Coast with a high-frequency bus network linking Lytham, St Annes, Blackpool, Bispham, Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Poulton.
