Led Walls are LED technology screens used to broadcast high quality images, videos and dynamic multimedia content to a wide audience located even at great distances and in all light conditions.
Consisting of several panels or modules placed side-by-side vertically and horizontally, they create a kind of large, highly visible, luminous wall of multicoloured LEDs. A LED screen wall can be installed both indoors and outdoors and can be used for different purposes and in different contexts: sporting events, advertising, trade fairs, concerts, shopping centres, airports, etc.
Recently, they are also becoming increasingly popular in smaller and more private environments, such as offices, meeting rooms and living rooms, providing excellent performance in terms of quality, brightness, practicality and durability.
Most effective use and application of LED Walls
Among the most popular applications of LED walls are marketing and advertising, with LED screens installed in shopping centres, retails and showcases to promote products, services, special offers, discounts and news.
These screens can also have an informative purpose: for example, they are used in airports and train stations to communicate timetables, delays or cancelled flights and trains, or outside restaurants and bars to present the gastronomic proposals.
Another application is in the sport sector, for example inside stadiums and arenas, where they can be used to update the public on the results of competitions in progress, or in the artistic field, to show images in real time during theatrical events, concerts and TV programmes or to create immersive visual effects during an exhibition.
LED walls are also very common in public lighting, especially when it is necessary to project images onto buildings or historical monuments during special events. Finally, as we mentioned earlier, this type of LED display is also now starting to be used in offices and meeting rooms, to present projects and reports in an innovative way and to promote the interaction of the attendant working groups.
Present and future trends in the LED Wall sector
One of the most important future trends in the Led Wall sector is the search for greater flexibility in terms of size and thickness: there is a move towards ever thinner and lighter LED screens, which can be easily installed in hitherto unthinkable places and even on more difficult surfaces, such as curved ones. The use of transparent screens will also be very strong, so as not to block visibility and to offer the possibility of viewing digital content and, at the same time, enjoying the surrounding landscape.
Then there is interactivity, which will strongly enter the LED Wall sector to give rise to new, absolutely personalised and highly engaging advertisements that, also through the use of augmented reality, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT), will allow data to be collected and analyses to be made to adapt content to audience preferences in real time.
Finally, there will be a large focus on sustainability, with even more environmentally friendly LED Wall solutions, with very low energy consumption (thanks to its ‘cold technology’ with no heat loss during operation) and developed with recyclable, long-lasting and low-maintenance materials.
