Appeal launched to help identify body found in Rivington

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a body found in a field in Rivington on Thursday afternoon.

The man, of medium to large build is believed to be around 40-50 years old. His body was found on Dean Brook, near Horrobin Lane and has yet to be identified.

He has a dark goatee-style beard and cropped dark but slightly greying hair.

When he was found, he was wearing a green ‘Foxy’ jacket, black ‘Slazenger’ tracksuit bottoms, a white/grey ‘Soulcal & Co’ t-shirt, and green wellington boots.

He was also wearing a distinctive orange coloured ‘Casio’ digital watch (pictured) and had no obvious tattoos or scars.

There is no connection to the ongoing search for missing Brian Blakeman near Skelmersdale.

The man was found at 2.50pm on Thursday. At this time the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Anyone with information should call Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log 0783 of December 7.
