BECOSAN® Commemorates Successful Conclusion of UK’s Most Extensive Warehouse Renovation Endeavour

BECOSAN®, a pioneering name in the field of concrete treatment solutions, proudly announces the triumphant culmination of a monumental project – the transformation of the former GAP Warehouse located in Rugby, which now stands as the UK’s largest refurbished property.

This transformative feat reached its zenith with the occupancy of the facility by retail behemoth Sainsbury’s, marking a defining milestone as one of the year’s most significant singular property transactions.

A triumphant joint endeavor alongside Sunrise Real Estate Limited and Total Project Integration, BECOSAN® was instrumental in executing this ambitious venture encompassing a sprawling expanse of 661,000 square feet (60,000 m²). Sunrise Real Estate, the proprietor of this industrial edifice, orchestrated an extensive overhaul of the premises, which have now been formally handed over to Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Limited.

Sunrise Real Estate’s strategic acquisition of the site from Gap Inc. in September 2022 initiated a bold rejuvenation initiative. Through unwavering dedication from all stakeholders, the project was seamlessly executed within a remarkably swift two-month timeframe.

At the core of this transformative journey lay the comprehensive renovation of the Rugby 661 location. The refurbishment, spearheaded by Total Project Integration (TPI), incorporated innovative enhancements to the pavements, empowered by the cutting-edge BECOSAN® treatment.

Among the key figures shaping this impressive endeavor were BECOSAN® project director Martin Kerrigan and treatment coordinator Oliver Sanz Wittrowksi. Notably, this project ranks as one of the most substantial undertakings in the company’s history.

Martin Kerrigan expressed his delight, stating, “The privilege of participating in this project cannot be overstated. The comprehensive refurbishment of the structure to an exceptional standard is a testament to the collective dedication invested. Witnessing the application of BECOSAN® treatment on a project of such magnitude is immensely gratifying.”

Oliver Sanz Wittrowksi elaborated on the virtues of the BECOSAN® treatment, affirming its multifaceted impact. “The BECOSAN® treatment bestows not only a rejuvenated aesthetic to the pavement but also reinforces its durability and sustainability. This treatment has endowed the Rugby 661 site with a resilient future, ensuring its relevance for years to come.”
