Transformation in Leadership at Citypark Fitness as Founders Steven Dick and Scott Agnew Step Down Amidst Exponential Growth in Fitness Group Education

A monumental shift has taken place within Citypark Fitness, as the co-founders, Steven Dick and Scott Agnew, bid adieu to their daily managerial roles after a prolific eight-year tenure.

With their gaze now firmly fixed upon The Fitness Group Education Limited, the duo is embarking on a journey to enrich the education of aspiring personal trainers, transcending the boundaries of conventional fitness instruction.

Emerging as a preeminent independent gym business spanning 7,000 square feet, Citypark Fitness came into existence in 2015, a brainchild of the collaborative efforts of Steve, Scott, and Thomas Anderson. Nestled within the confines of the Dennistoun-based Citypark building in Glasgow, this establishment swiftly earned its reputation.

While their tenure at Citypark was marked by remarkable achievements, the decision of Steven and Scott to step back was marked by solemnity. With a touch of melancholy, Steven Dick conveyed, “Since its inception in 2015, the journey through the corridors of Citypark Fitness, shared by Thomas, Scott, and myself, has been one of pure delight. The throes of the pandemic tested our mettle, but this adversity impelled us to reimagine our offerings, thereby birthing the concept of intimate group training sessions. A triumph that endures till this day, transforming the lives of our patrons through specialised guidance.”

Amidst this transition, Citypark Fitness remains resolute under the stewardship of Thomas Anderson, poised to lead with a formidable and distinguished approach to wellness in Glasgow. Reflecting on the promising trajectory of Citypark, Steven expressed:

“Recent inclusions, including a freshly appointed gym manager, have catalysed an unceasing surge in performance, yielding affirmative outcomes and sustained expansion over the last biennium. The trajectory under Thomas’s aegis, alongside our gym manager Peter and the entire Citypark Fitness Team, enjoys my unwavering backing.”

In 2018, Steven and Scott conceived The Fitness Group Education, a testament to their own struggles in sourcing adept personal trainers for Citypark Fitness. Born with the vision to impart their expertise, their mission was to equip future personal trainers with a profound skill set that transcends the confines of a standard training credential, thereby elevating the benchmarks of education within the fitness sector. The evolution of The Fitness Group Education transcended Glasgow’s boundaries, extending its influence to various corners of the UK, including Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, and London.

Today, The Fitness Group Education extends its tutelage across the expanse of the UK and beyond, delivering premier online fitness education courses spanning domains such as personal training and sports massage. Notably, it stands as a trusted affiliate of prestigious entities including the Ministry of Defence, TRX, Strength and Conditioning Education, The PFA, My PT Hub, English League Education, and a host of other distinguished institutions.

The foundational goal of The Fitness Group Education is to furnish budding personal trainers with a robust framework, enabling them to cultivate a holistic grasp of health, fitness, and nutrition, alongside the subtler dimensions of physical well-being. This encompasses areas such as emergency first aid, pre and post-natal qualifications, mental health awareness, and adeptly guiding adolescent physical activities.

Steven Dick asserted, “The mantle of leadership embraced by The Fitness Group Education epitomizes accessible education that is tailored to bolster the aspirations of personal trainers. The forthcoming generations bear the responsibility of safeguarding their own well-being while inspiring a new cadre of enterprising personal trainers in a landscape rife with a saturation of specialised gyms and fitness technology.”

Even in their departure from Citypark Fitness, the presence of Steven Dick and Scott Agnew remains indelible. The offerings of Citypark, which encompass cutting-edge features including state-of-the-art equipment from premier gym brands like Life Fitness and Jordan Fitness, exclusive female group personal training sessions, personalised one-on-one guidance, all under the aegis of The Fitness Group Education’s blessings, signify a limitless horizon for Citypark Fitness.

In Steven’s words, “The partnership between myself and The Fitness Group Education is set to endure, marking Citypark Fitness as its epicenter in Glasgow. This harmonious collaboration is poised to fortify the future of both entities, illuminating a path towards magnificence and distinction.”
