Abingdon Health Introduces Revolutionary Saliva Pregnancy Test in the UK

Abingdon Health is proud to launch the Salistick TM, the world’s first saliva pregnancy test, now available in the UK and Ireland through its distribution partner, Abingdon Simply Test. This groundbreaking innovation marks the first significant advancement in pregnancy testing in decades.

Utilising patented technology, the Salistick TM enables the detection of the pregnancy hormone hCG in saliva, providing women with a more convenient and hygienic testing experience. This major development allows the special moment of confirming pregnancy to be shared fully.

Shortly after fertilisation, the female body starts producing the hCG hormone. A portion of this hormone transfers from the bloodstream to the saliva, where it can be accurately detected using the Salistick TM saliva pregnancy test.

This cutting-edge technology transforms saliva into a reliable body-fluid sample for lateral flow immunoassays. With this test, women have the flexibility to conduct the test whenever and wherever they prefer, enabling them to share this significant moment with their partners and loved ones.

Gone are the days of feeling isolated in the bathroom and having to withhold drinking fluids before testing.

Salignostics Limited, an innovative company from Israel that harnesses the power of saliva for rapid diagnostics, has partnered with Abingdon Health PLC to bring this advanced testing solution to the market. The Salistick TM Saliva Pregnancy Test will be launched in collaboration with Superdrug, a popular health and beauty retailer in the UK.

Initially, the test will be available online at Abingdon Simply Test and Superdrug.com, as well as in 400 Superdrug stores.

Dr. Guy Krief, Deputy CEO and Chief Business Development Officer at Salignostics Ltd, commented, “The availability of Salistick TM kits within the Superdrug network signifies a significant milestone in Salignostics’ market expansion across the UK and Ireland. This aligns with our global commercialisation strategy. The introduction of Salistick TM represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of pregnancy home-testing, and our ongoing efforts to promote commercialisation initiatives will ensure that this remarkable innovation reaches millions of women.”

The launch of the Salistick TM saliva pregnancy test marks a significant achievement for Abingdon Health PLC, based in York. The company continues to expand its portfolio of innovative testing options, making them available nationwide in stores and online through abingdonsimplytest.com. By prioritising user experiences and delivering high-quality products, Abingdon Health PLC remains at the forefront of the industry.

Chris Yates, CEO at Abingdon Health PLC, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are delighted to announce the launch of Salistick TM and its introduction across 400 Superdrug stores and online at Superdrug.com. This novel technology offers women an enhanced user experience, allowing testing anywhere, anytime, and the opportunity to share the testing experience with their partner and loved ones.”
