Haney, 24, who made light work of the former champ, George Kambosos Jr. in November last year, is confident to put on a similar display against the Ukrainian matrix. During the Wednesday media day conference, Haney accused Loma of playing dirty in his previous encounters, leading to the pair sharing bitter words.
During a backstage altercation, Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) shouted at Loma’s team, charging them with a ‘dirty competitor’ title.
Haney started the row by telling Lomachenko’s manager Egis Klimas: “We know what he wants to do on the inside, he wants to make it a dirty fight.”
To which Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) amusingly responded: “How do you know? How do you know?”
Loma then asked: “Where did you see a dirty fight during my career? Where? Which fight?”
There was no love lost between the two just here as the two were seen sharing some harsh verbals with each other on the stage. The final presser ended with a tense face-off but not before the two let their thoughts known to the audience in attendance.
Haney continued with his narrative of Loma being inferior in terms of quality and that he will expose the Ukrainian southpaw when the two meet in the centre of the ring this Saturday.
“I’m gonna go in there and handicap him of his best attributes that I know that he does, the habits I know he does, and the stuff he doesn’t like. He’s gonna try to do the same to me so let’s see who’s victorious in that.”

The former two-division champ, Lomachenko is happy to go into this fight as an underdog and wants Haney to back up his words. Unlike Haney, Loma was at his usual self in a pleasant mood during the final press conference. The 35-year-old is more than happy to answer all the accusations of the American fighter with his skill sets in the ring.
“I think he started a little game. It’s a part of the game. I like it, and I can’t wait,” said Vasyl Lomachenko to the media responding to Devin Haney calling him a “dirty fighter.” “Maybe you better ask him. He needs to explain because I don’t understand what he’s talking about. Of course,” said Lomachenko
