Free Business Events Aim to Help Lancashire Firms Attract Talent

A series of free business support events is set to help employers across Lancashire with their recruitment prowess.

Organised by award-winning Fresh Perspective Resourcing in conjunction with Chorley Council, the first instalment of ‘How to Attract & Retain Talent’ is taking place this Wednesday (8th March 2023) at 9.30am.

Hosted at Strawberry Fields Digital Hub, the three-hour session will cover elements such as how to stand out as an employer; including branding, optimising your adverts, creating an effective personality and how to harness the power of social media.

The face-to-face workshops are a new extension to the online ‘Recruitment Academy’ initiative launched in lockdown and will pull on a wealth of expertise from the recruitment and employment specialists to arm employers with the tools they need to attract the right people.

Chorley-based, Fresh Perspective describes itself as ‘a recruitment business with a twist on the traditional’ and is ran by sisters Emily and Laura Leyland, who will both be delivering the sessions to delegates from all industries across both the private and public sectors.

Laura Leyland, managing director at Fresh Perspective, said: “Recruitment doesn’t need to be daunting and certainly shouldn’t hinder business growth and so we want to work with those SME’s who perhaps can’t afford consultancy services like ours so they can still thrive.  People buy people and we want to share some golden nuggets of advice with local employers to help them recruit the best staff.

“Whether it’s creating fantastic job descriptions, how businesses market themselves to candidates or how to make an impact; we can give some first-hand advice on best practice and also what to avoid.

“Participants are guaranteed to learn a lot from these sessions which will help to smash those recruitment goals and have lots of fun along the way. Plus, it’s all for free, too, so there’s no financial outlay to worry about.”

Comprising a total of four sessions, the series also incorporates workshops including ‘Reviewing candidates and making offers’ and ‘Keeping hold of your team’.   Dates of each are:

Session 1 – How to attract and retain talent – 8th March

Session 2 – Finding Candidates – 22nd March

Session 3 – Reviewing Candidates & Making Offers – 19th April

Session 4 – Recruitment Process & Keeping Hold of Your Team – 3rd May
