Final Call for Entries for the North West Family Business Awards 2023

The closing date for entries to the North West Family Business Awards 2023 is quickly
approaching. Hosted by The Family Business Community, these annual awards celebrate
the success of family firms across the North West and look to inspire them to shine brighter than ever before.

Co-founders of the Family Business Community, Dave Clarkson & Sue Howorth said “We’re so thrilled to be returning to Manchester for 2023 for our North West Family Business Awards, and know that our judges have got a really tough job to choose the finalists from the family business entries that we receive! Our judges have helped our Awards grow and develop since 2016 and it’s important to us that we have judge representation from each County and from different industry sectors.”

Family Businesses have until the weekend of 24 th February to submit their entries, and the Awards finalists will be revealed on Tuesday 7th March 2023 with a ceremony set to soar to new heights on Friday 19th of May 2023 at the Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester.

Judging day takes place on Friday 3rd March, and is kindly hosted by the team at Siemens
PLC, Near Manchester and is always a real highlight of the awards process. Sue Bagguley
from Siemens PLC is also one of the judges and said: “We are honoured to be hosting the
judging team again at our HQ as it brings together a very special group of people. We are also excited to be using our experience to help choose the winners and celebrate the best of the best.”

Amongst the judges, we welcome back Sheena McDermott, North West Programme
Manager for Be the Business, Sheena said: “I am delighted to be returning to be a part of the judging panel for the North West Family Business Awards, as our mission at Be the Business is to encourage companies large and small to work together and share expertise that will help make the UK’s businesses more productive.

These awards provide an extraordinary platform to honour the efforts of family businesses, by showcasing how collaborative leadership can deliver outstanding results.”

The North West Family Business Awards are organised and run by The Family Business

Co-hosting the Awards, alongside Sue Howorth and Dave Clarkson will be the renowned food and drink broadcaster and writer, Nigel Barden. With numerous radio and TV shows under his belt, Nigel works on the Simon Mayo Drivetime Show on Greatest Hits Radio and specialises in promoting British ingredients and artisan producers, particularly in his role as chairman of judges for The Great Taste Awards and as a host at Tom Kerridge’s ‘Pub in the Park’ festivals.
