Kids Planet Acquires 150th Setting via Redwoods Dowling Kerr

Nook Barn Nursery Limited, situated in Lancashire, was sold to major childcare provider Kids Planet in a deal facilitated by Redwoods Dowling Kerr, marking the 150th setting for the childcare provider.

Nook Barn Nursery is a substantial nursery based in a former barn located in Blackburn,
Lancashire. It sits at the heart of a densely populated residential area, close to the town
centre, and has a current capacity for up to 55 children from birth to 5 years of age. Nook
Barn features a strong experienced management team and received a ‘Good’ rating from
Ofsted in its latest inspection. It enjoys an excellent reputation, with high occupancy and
staff retention levels.

Nook Barn Nursery is ideally placed for local parents, while also proving popular with
parents who travel from further afield.

The buyer, Kids Planet Nurseries, is an award-winning childcare provider in the UK. This
latest acquisition brings the provider’s total number of settings to 150 across the UK. Kids
Planet’s settings are described as “a place of wonder & awe”. The provider cares for over 15,000 children offering safe and secure environments with fully trained and dedicated staff as well as nutritious meals.

Childcare Broker Karrina Lee stated: “It was a pleasure to assist both Kids Planet and our
clients in this transaction. The sale completed in just over 11 weeks and is another brilliant
addition to the Kids Planet family.”
