Equans to complete key refurbishment work across North West England

Equans has secured a further contract to extend the partnership with The Riverside Group, for phase two of the Retirement Living Investment Programme (RLIP). This will see work undertaken across five blocks of retirement living accommodation: three in Widnes, one in Southport, and one in Stockport.

This builds on a long-standing relationship between Equans, The Riverside Group and consultant Storm Tempest, with the first scheme completed in partnership back in 2016. Delivering consistently high standards of quality and resident safety since then, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Equans has previously completed six RLIP schemes on behalf of Riverside with zero recorded cases.

Works to the blocks includes the interior refurbishment and upgrades including asbestos removal, supply & installation of kitchens & bathrooms, lifts, windows & doors, mechanical & electrical works, refurbishment of communal areas, and the provision of furniture & soft furnishings, including environmental works to the surroundings of the schemes.

Neil Warburton, Refurbishment Director at Equans, said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our relationship with Riverside and Storm Tempest, working in partnership to improve retirement living and in turn the lives of those living there. Equans is committing to sustainable refurbishment and regeneration across the North West and beyond, and we’re looking forward to getting stuck in here in the new year.”

Bryan Simpson, Head of Asset Investment and Delivery at The Riverside Group, said: “We are pleased to appoint Equans to continue to deliver programmes of work, and look forward to a continued working relationship”.
