Nelson and Colne College Group accredited to the matrix Standard

Lancashire-based further education group, Nelson and Colne College have been accredited to the matrix Standard, demonstrating the high quality of support, advice and guidance they provide to their student base across Lancashire.

The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering.

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Nelson and Colne College Group and I would like to congratulate the team on their success.

“We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available.

“The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, Nelson and Colne College Group is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”

Commenting on the award, Fiona McIntyre, Manager of Careers, Student Services and LRC said; “I am delighted with the outcome of the inspection and it reflects the hard work and dedication that the Careers and Student Services teams have put in when delivering IAG.

We are especially proud of the recognition of good practice that the report highlighted, it was particularly pleasing that the team was recognised as being “…totally learner focused where staff are passionate about the service and that learners achieve their goals, positive outcomes and aspirations”.”
