Home Bargains to open new store in Chorley creating 55 new jobs with £3 million investment

Home Bargains has invested approximately £3 Million in its new store in Chorley, which will be officially opened at 8.00am on Saturday 12 November 2022.

As one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, Home Bargains is creating 55 new jobs in the local community with its store in Chorley. In total, the store will employ 60 team members, including some staff and management, who will be transferring from local stores.

It will also be donating £2,000 to a local charity, Derian House, a children’s hospice which has been helping children and young people with life-limiting conditions make the most of every moment for almost 30 years. The hospice offers respite and end-of-life care to more than 450 children and their families from across the North West of England and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Ellie Smith, Community Fundraiser at Derian House, said: “We rely on the kindness of our supporters like Home Bargains, and I am sure I can speak on behalf of our children and families when I pass on their sincere thanks for this incredible donation.”

The new Chorley store will join over 575 outlets across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry.

Sara Bateman, the new Chorley store manager, said: “The store team and I are extremely excited to be bringing the much-loved Home Bargains brand to another community in the UK. The team has put so much hard work into the store and we are all excited to share it with you.”

The 16,081sq. ft store will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Sara added: “Chorley will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

With more than five million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s best-loved discount retailers, stocking top-quality branded goods at low prices.
