Councillors to be asked to approve appointment of new Executive Director of Resources

Lancashire County Council will be asked to appoint Mark Wynn to the role of Executive Director of Resources at a meeting of the full council next week.

Mark is currently Chief Operating Officer at Cheshire West and Chester Council, overseeing the Corporate Services directorate, and has a wealth of experience in local government.

The Executive Director of Resources at the county council is responsible for driving transformational change across the council and supporting the organisation to deliver the ambitions set out in our corporate priorities, which ultimately support Lancashire residents to receive services they need and deserve.

Mark said: “I feel very privileged to be recommended for such an important role and feel that I will bring the experience and approach to deliver high performance, engagement and innovation across the directorate.

“I am passionate about local government and improving outcomes for residents and look forward to working for a Council that strives to deliver modern and efficient services.

“I relish new challenges and I am extremely excited to get going and help the county council deliver its ambitious vision and working with the talented team there already.”

County Councillor Phillippa Williamson, Leader of Lancashire County Council, said: “Mark has a track-record of high-performance, is a proven leader, and shares our Lancashire values, priorities and ambitions.

“This is an extremely important role and we believe Mark will be well placed to drive the change that transforms the way we deliver services to the people of Lancashire.”

Angie Ridgwell, Chief Executive of Lancashire County Council, said: “We believe Mark will be a huge asset to the council given his track record of high performance and delivery. We look forward to welcoming him to our team.”

Lancashire County Council will consider the appointment at full council on Thursday 13 October.
