The end of September sees two significant changes at Preston accountants, Whitehead & Aldrich. They will be saying goodbye to Partner, David Greenwood, who is retiring and welcoming James Jensen as a new Partner.
It would be fair to say that David hasn’t exactly rushed off as he’s been at Whitehead & Aldrich since 1982, that’s 40 years! Is it an accident that David has waited until his length of time with the firm is a round number or was it his accounting brain that drove that decision?
David began his accounting career in Blackburn as an articled clerk at Waterworth Rudd and Hare, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1980.
Over the past 40 years David has supported many owner-managed businesses across the region and in fact has seen several from their beginning to their owner’s retirement. David became a partner in 1988 and in this role has supported and encouraged several generations of younger staff. It goes without saying that he will be sorely missed by everyone at Whitehead & Aldrich but also by his wide range of clients.
David’s retirement will give him more time to support PNE and continue with his enthusiasm for tennis, playing for St Annes. He is also hoping to devote more time to walking his dog and is very much looking forward to being able to visit Cardiff more often to see his daughter and 2 grandchildren.
The other change sees James Jensen being appointed as Partner. James has been at Whitehead & Aldrich since 2012 and he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in August 2017.
You’ll notice that James has been at Whitehead & Aldrich for 10 years; again another round number.
Over the past decade James has built up a strong portfolio of clients across the wide range of market sectors that Whitehead & Aldrich support. He also continues the tradition of encouraging and mentoring newer members of staff.
