A training course for environmental enforcement officers has been unveiled by the leading firm in the sector.
Newton-le-Willows-based Kingdom Local Authority Support (LAS) says its CPD-accredited programme of study will provide unique training for anyone who wants to understand and prevent environmental crime and develop a career in that field.
The firm, which works to eliminate litter, fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour on behalf of many local authorities in England and Wales, has created a four-day course, which includes understanding environmental legislation and dealing with the public professionally and respectfully.
Prospective learners don’t have to be currently employed by Kingdom LAS to access the training; meaning it is open to council workers with an environmental remit and other interested applicants.
John Roberts, Kingdom LAS’s Solutions Director, said he was ‘excited and proud’ to unveil the new course, which will help further professionalise the sector.
John, who has been integral to the content of the course and its creation, said: “I am incredibly excited and proud that we are able to offer this course. It is the first of its kind and truly market leading.
“I have been so passionate about it as I believe this sort of in-depth training and knowledge will help our staff as well as those from other teams have a comprehensive understanding of why we do what we do, and they will therefore be able to offer a top-class service to every community and authority.”
Zoe Darcy, Head of Training at Kingdom Group, added: “The Environmental Officer training course has been formulated by the group to encompass every type of learning style and cover all areas of work in the environmental enforcement industry.
“I’m positive it will be a huge success and enable those with knowledge to now certificate their achievements. Having the course CPD certified is a huge plus for the industry and Kingdom.”
